At an elevation of 1000 m above sea level, Lake Yamanaka is known as the lake closest to Mt. Fuji.
Of the Five Lakes of Mt. Fuji, Lake Yamanaka is the largest in terms of surface area-and the plateau on which it is situated is known as a popular resort location.
Nestled on the shores of Lake Yamanaka, our inn, Tagaoogi, is a traditional Japanese-style ryokan inn popular among guests ranging from individuals to small groups.

We offer 20 guest rooms with a view of either Mt. Fuji or Lake Yamanaka.
Our rooms facing Mt. Fuji are Japanese-style; facing Lake Yamanaka, we offer either Japanese or Western-style rooms.
We offer two different large-scale public baths, each overflowing with natural beauty. At night, we offer a stone-lined open-air bath where you can enjoy the gentle lakeside breeze and the view of the starry sky from 1000 meters above.

We offer two types of Western-style rooms: those with a view of Lake Yamanaka, and those with a view of Mt. Fuji

Cuisine

We offer rich Japanese cuisine (full-course kaiseki meals) bursting with fresh seafood delivered daily direct from Numazu Port and the local specialties of the mountains of Yamanashi Prefecture. Our dishes offer an exquisite taste of seasonal and natural flavors.

We offer special-order meals that change with the four seasons. We also offer special dishes that can only be eaten here, such as horse sashimi, stewed abalone, and other Yamanashi local dishes.

Yamanashi is a major wine producer in Japan. It has around 70 wineries producing a variety of wines. Yamanashi also produces famous water. The sake produced using this water is exceptional.
